Streaked Images is a photo database providing free microbiology-related images to educators, researchers, students and the general public. The images have come from students and educators. Our website address is: https://streakedimages.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it


Images on this site have been provided by educators and students who have agreed to provide them to the site (and you) under a creative commons (free use with attribution) licence. Anyone wishing to submit images must also agree to the images (any attached image metadata) being used under a creative commons (attribution) licence. Your name will be used for attribution purposes. Contact forms & email

We may review and/or store any information you provide when contacting us (such as email address, images, name and any other information volunteered). We discourage you from providing us with any information you consider sensitive. We only share the information you provide us as requested by you, to assist in the functioning of the site, to assist in answering queries or as required for legal or other administrative purposes.


Temporary cookies may be used on this site to assist the functioning of the webpage.


We may collect anonymous data on users to help understand our web traffic (e.g. number of visitors, from which countries, etc.). This data will not be used to identify you.

How long we retain your data

General data may be maintained indefinitely. Communications (contact forms and emails) may be deleted periodically or maintained indefinitely unless you request otherwise.

If you have provided images to this site or provided any information when contacting us, you can request to receive an exported file of any images and/or any personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
